"Parasytic: Richmond, VA punx playing crust-metal with a backbone of peace-punk and homebrew. Includes members of Alabama Thunderpussy, Avail, Cannabis Corpse and Aghast. Church Hill crusties shredding like motherfuckers, ripping like Amebix and Carcass at the same time. Debut full length LP ‘Hymn’ came out in 2008. Its follow up, ‘Poison Minds’, was released in March 2011."
I've been waiting a few months to get my hands on this album and it's FINALLY come out! The first track and I'm already impressed. If you're not familiar with Parasytic, they combine a wonderful blend of metallic crust with some thrashy as fuck riffs. The guitar solos are pure fucking gold. There is A LOT of talent behind this band. Just all out shredding and ripping is what Parasytic does best. With the whole thrash metal revival in the Bay Area and bands such as this sprouting up everywhere, the thrash scene is still going strong. I'd compare them to bands like Axewield, G.A.T.E.S., Dishammer, Children Of Technology, and Effigy. Japan obviously has a great scene when it comes to crust, especially in the crossover scene, but these Virginian punks really lay the beat down on the whole thrash infused crust. This is without a doubt one of the heaviest, hardest crust albums to date. If you want something that'll tear your asshole apart, THIS would bet he album. Don't say I didn't warn you!
