Cult Ritual - Self Titled (2009)

From last.fm:

"Musically compared to Vladimir Mikhaylovich Komarov, the first man to die during an outer space mission.

Rust In Pieces
2006 - 2009"

Haha. I don't know why but this description made me laugh.

Coming straight off Youth Attack record, Cult Ritual is laying the smackdown on the hardcore scene. There's much hype behind the label ran by Mark McCoy, the mastermind behind Charles Bronson, and I think Cult Ritual lives up to it more than enough.  If you old school hardcore fans were losing faith in today's scene have no fear because this band delivers! Infusing a a frantic paced hardcore with some traditional styles, CR somehow merges both the old school and new school hardcore bands into one amazing 31 minute album. Lots and lots of distortion is the key to this bands success. It really captivates early bands like Black Flag, Circle Jerks, and most importantly, Minor Threat with heavy, raw distorted hardcore but continues to be fast paced like Ceremony and Trash Talk. Fans of hardcore, both old and new; LETS HOLD HANDS! Let this holy matrimony take forth as Cult Ritual erases that gap between the two, we say I do. I DO!
