"Zorka was born in summer of 2006 when max and nikita decided to start a band. We all loved crust, grindcore, thrashcore and wanted to play heavy hardcore punk. After some lineup changes we met den in spring of 2007 who filled the blastbeater’s position and so here we go… We have played some gigs across russia, in 2007 we recorded 4 songs for our first demo, they also were released as enclosure to DEFECT IN INDUSTRY zine 15 in belorussia. Our lyrics deal with social, political and personal issues. We all love vegan and vegetarian food and hate nazis in any form. We believe in possibility of better world and express our emotions about it through our noise. Keep on grinding, bastards!!!"
I've been meaning to get around to Zorka for awhile and I'm really fucking disappointed that it took my this long because they're kick ass. I had a friend on last.fm pressure me to listen to them and I'd like to give a big thanks to him for doing so. Being grind and crust fans as well as big into thrashcore, Zorka combines a unique blend of crust and grind along with a dominant drum line that is resemblant to d-beat. The style is overall loud, fast, and angry. Nothing I'd expect less from a couple of punks looking to grind. If you're a fan of Phobia you'll fall in love with Zorka. Check it.
